Privacy

The site counts visits and what is used (pages, profiles looked up, openings practised) to see how it is used, with a random id for this browser, your country, your IP address with its last part removed (so it points to no one) and, when you are logged in, your Lichess name. Once you have logged in, your player card (rating, skills, style, openings) is shown on the leaderboard. When you are logged in, your progress in the trainer (stars, lines, favourites, starred players and settings) is kept with your Lichess name, so it follows you to every device. Nothing else about you is stored.

Where real games run out, the opponent is Maia 3 (CSSLab, University of Toronto), a net trained on Lichess games. The site's code is open, under the AGPL-3.0: github.com/joeland2/schack-oppningar.
